About

I am a 30 year old ‘enthusiast’ photographer, based in Perth, AU. I have been interested in photography for a long time but it never developed past ‘the generic Point & Shoot shots’ until I decided to buy my 1st DSLR, a Canon 450D. That was over 5 years ago, and I have since upgraded several times to a Canon 7D, Canon 5Diii and more recently a Sony A7 & Canon 6D.

I am looking to grow and develop my skills as a photographer, and my hope for this site & blog is that it will be the chronicle of that journey. Hopefully I can get to meet and talk to other interesting photographers who can help me out and, like-wise, I can help.

I have also been made the 'backwards' step into film photography, shooting with 35 and 120 film, and am hoping to continue to experiment with different formats of photography.

Like all other photographers I learn something new everytime I take a shot. I am still trying to decide what ‘kind’ of photographer I am, when looking back through my past photos I found that I shoot with an abstract style. I work professionally as an Architectural Draftsperson, so architectural photography comes really naturally to me. An area of photography I would like to do more of is model/fashion photography, I have done a few fashion/portrait photography but working with people is very different to photographing objects. So I have a lot to learn.
