Sony A7iii - Early Thoughts

July 1, 2019

Hey guys, long time now post ... 2019 hasn’t been the best in terms of creative output from my side. It’s actually been a pretty rough year, and one what I don’t really want to be repeated. Now with that said, we are already half way through the year and Ready to get started on a better 2nd half of 2019. I have recently upgraded my trusty Sony A7 to the 3rd generation, Sony A7iii. This upgrade has been a long time coming, and after having the A7iii for a little over a week, I thought that I would share some of my pics taken over the week and some of my early thoughts.

So far I’ve been really impressed with the A7iii, I can understand the photographic hype that has been around this camera for the last year.  I’m still wrapping my head around the autofocus settings and types along with the new button locations. I have preset the custom buttons to be allow quicker shooting using the shortcuts, but I think that as I go along I will be changing these the more I learn about the camera.

I haven’t done any proper video shooting yet, so I’ll leave that section of this camera for another post in the future.

Anyway I hope you enjoyed looking at some of these images, below are a couple shots of my trusty, original, A7, in all its used glory. This camera has been a workhorse that has not let me down, it’s travelled the world with me. It’s been dropped, more than I care to admit, it’s been in sun, sand, snow and rain and never missed a beat. I’ll continue to use this as a back up when the need calls for it, but for now it’s earned a bit of a rest.

Thanks again for sticking around, during my hiatus. Hopefully I will be able to start putting new content out soon.
